Oxnard, CA – October 5, 2001, Voiceboard Corporation announced today the immediate availability of the PTMC41, a 240 port DSP PMC board with a broad range of supporting off the shelf communications and media gateway software. The PTMC41 provides full 240 port capacity for VoIP or VoATM applications, including G.723.1, G.729A, G.726 or G.711 compression algorithms, G.168 long tail echo cancellation, T.38 FAX, V.90 modem and on board Media Gateway software. The new PTMC41 is ideally suited for implementing a complete high density Media Gateway within a single cPCI slot.
The PTMC41 is compliant with the PICMG PTMC specifications, including access to the carrier board PCI and H.110 TDM busses. Included on-board is a 350 MIPS PowerPC 8240 executive controller supporting resource management, messaging, data buffers, TCP-UDP/IP stacks and dual redundant 100baseT Ethernet ports. The H.110 TDM bus implemented on the PTMC41 supports a full 4,096 timeslots.
Voiceboard offers a full complement of communications software packages for the PTMC41 240 port board, including VoIP and fax/modem relay, telephony functions, high density conferencing, terminating G3 fax and V.90 modem. The PTMC41 supports media streaming over dual redundant 100BT Ethernet ports managed by the on-board PowerPC 8240.
For those OEM customers integrating their own DSP software, Voiceboard offers the DSP Development Kit (DDK). The DDK is an API and development Common package to support rapid development of customer configured DSP firmware that will load onto the PTMC41. The DDK for PTMC41 includes McBSP and HPI I/O driver source code, along with a host API for interfacing to the 8240 executive controller. The DDK includes I/O messaging, payload data transfer buffers, DSP software loading, TCP-UDP/IP stacks and 10/100baseT Ethernet driver firmware for the 8240 executive controller.
The 240 port PTMC41 and supporting software offer a wide range of application solutions. OEMs have a choice of using the PTMC41 DSP board and software as a turnkey PMC plug-in to a PTMC compatible carrier board or selecting from a variety of Voiceboard provided carrier boards. Available carrier boards include T1/E1/J1 or T3/E3/J3 network interfaces capable of running on board H.323, MEGACO, MGCP or SIP software stacks for implementing single slot VoIP Media Gateway solutions.
Voiceboard offers OEM’s a transparent upgrade path from 240 ports to 960 ports, along with compatible software and development Common from TI and Voiceboard.
